Right Alt+Enter

Postby alx » Sat Oct 29, 2005 9:23 am

Left Alt+Enter brings up the Entry Colour dialog which corresponds to Properties for model entries; I would expect Right Alt+Enter to do the same thing, as in Windows Explorer, but it works like a normal Enter.

Funny what one can discover when editing with one hand!

The right alt key is actually an alt graphics key for getting at obscure graphics. It is a substitute for Alt+Ctrl. Beyond that, I think its use is in the gift of the programmer.

Marck (BrainStorm's programmer) might be able to either implement it as a direct equivalent to Alt in the circumstance where Enter is the accompaniment. Or he might come up with a good reason why this cannot be done.

Thanks for mentioning it.

I haven't looked into it and will do so when I'm back in full circulation. I may even get a chance later today - I don't know.

Yes, the right Alt key is a different key from the left Alt key and needs specific implementation to support it in software.

Interestingly, I noticed the Right Alt+Enter issue on a Windows 2000 machine, while in my home Windows XP it seemed to work exactly as Left Alt+Enter. The verdict is open.

In any case I don't think you need to trouble yourselves over this...
