Linking to external databases

I would like a way to link Brainstorm to specific records in external databases, i.e. Access, Excel, dBase or whatever.

In practice, this is what Outlook Linker ( http://www.teamscope.com/otherpro/utilities.asp#linker ) does with the Outlook database of contacts, tasks, messages or whatever; it provides a link that can be launched from Brainstorm or other programs, opening that specific record in Outlook.

Any ideas?
